Who may attend Letters & Lines?

Only adults 18 and over who have registered and paid for the conference may attend. No friends or family may accompany an attendee to conference events without also being a registered participant of the conference.

What should I wear?

We are a somewhat relaxed group of people, but we’re also professionals. Be comfortable, but also be prepared to meet editors and agents.

Most importantly, dress in layers! Rooms often run cold, so you might need to bring a light jacket or sweater.

When do I pick up my badge and swag?

With our new venue and schedule, we’ll have a new plan for badge pick-up too! Stay tuned for details.

Are any meals included in my registration costs?

Yes! New for 2024, meals, drinks and snacks will be catered onsite by Organic Roots Catering. Menu details coming soon.

Do I have to select a specific breakout session to attend prior to the start of the conference?

No. Each breakout session is open and available to all attendees each day of the conference. However, do be aware that not all of our rooms offer the same number of seats. If a room fills up, you may have to make a second choice – we suggest you pick your top two for each session, in case this happens.

What if, after a session has started, I realize it's not the right fit for me?

No worries. Please be discreet as you leave, being sure to gently open and close the door as you exit. Also, remember that the session you switch to has also started and use the same discretion as you enter.

Can I sell my book at the conference?

Each attendee who registers during the early registration period (on or before July 17, 2023) has the option of having one of their own books carried at the conference bookstore. You will enter the title and ISBN number of your book during registration. Books sold on consignment will receive additional instructions after registration.

Can I register for more than one critique?

Due to the limited number of critiques available, we can only offer one critique per person at the time of registration. You will have the opportunity to select your first, second, and third choice from our list of critique faculty when you register.

Can I reschedule my manuscript or portfolio critique?

Unfortunately, no. If you are worried about your in-person manuscript critique conflicting with any of the sessions, remember that you may select a virtual manuscript critique and then you don’t have to worry about missing a minute of the conference! No critiques will be scheduled during meals, keynotes, or the industry panel.

Can I cancel my registration or critique?

In the case of registrants who are unable to attend in person due to forces outside their control (i.e., flight cancellation), we are unable to offer refunds for cancellation due to contractual obligations to our faculty.

This includes all optional add-ons, such as manuscript or portfolio critiques.

Will there be a shuttle from the hotel to the Arvada Center?

Yes! Details coming soon.

Are there any COVID policies for this year's conference?

No. However, we are completely mask friendly! So please bring one if you feel the need to slip it on at any point during the conference. (We may not be providing masks this year.)
