Important Deadlines!

  • To be included in the Conference Bookstore, you must register by July 31.
  • For all Manuscript and Picture Book Dummy Critiques, you must register and send pages/pdf by July 31.

Name, Email, and Membership

You will need to enter the name you want printed on your conference badge. To receive member pricing, current members will need to enter their SCBWI-registered email address. We also ask that you enter an emergency contact phone number, so have that ready.

Menu Options

Conference registration includes a morning snack and lunch on both days, plus an afternoon snack/dessert on Saturday. All included meals, snacks and desserts will be served buffet and/or grab-and-go style. You will not need to choose menu options during registration.

NOTE: Intensive participants will have an additional “early” breakfast option, which must be selected during registration.

This year, instead of a single three-hour block, Intensives will be divided into two parts, running from 8:00-9:30 am on both Saturday and Sunday.

The novel and picture book roundtables are limited to 16 participants, while the other intensives are limited to 20 participants. Our picture book and novel roundtables allow you to get direct feedback on your work from agents, while the other intensives allow you to delve deeper into craft.

You may add an Intensive to your registration for $75.

Intensive participants may also add an optional breakfast to their registration for $14/day.

Manuscript, PB Dummy, and Portfolio Critiques

This year, our faculty will be providing portfolio, picture book dummy (writing + illustrations), and manuscript critiques. Before registering for a critique, please visit our faculty bios to find the best fit for your work.

Portfolio critiques are in-person only. Picture book dummy and manuscript critiques are offered both in-person and written-only. You may add an in-person critique to your registration for $80, or a written-only critique for $50.

Portfolio Contest

Three faculty members will be judging the portfolios in RMC’s limited space, juried Portfolio Contest. The prize? A one-on-one  virtual portfolio consultation with an art director at a large publishing house (director TBD). The runner-up receives a $30 gift certificate to Second Star, our amazing conference bookstore.

Conference Bookstore

Each attendee who registers during the early registration period (June 20-July 31) has the option of requesting one of their books to be carried in the conference bookstore.

Please note: we cannot guarantee we will be able to have requested books for sale in the conference bookstore. Books may be backordered or otherwise unavailable. We will do our best.

You must enter your book’s information when you register, including:

  • Book Title
  • ISBN Number
  • Publisher

For books sold on consignment (often self-published), you will also need to enter:

  • # of books for consignment
  • Retail Price
  • Wholesale Price (60% of retail)
  • Payment Name & Address

Because of the popularity of this offering, the book table can only accept books that have been registered on or before July 31, 2024. There will be no exceptions to this deadline.

2025 RMC Calendar

During registration, conference attendees may pre-order 2025 RMC calendars at a discounted price. Additional copies of the calendar will be available at the conference bookstore, but sometimes we sell out. Please help us print enough calendars by pre-ordering during registration.

Payment Processing by Stripe

Conference registration payments are processed securely through Stripe. You do not need a Stripe account to register for the conference. You do need a credit card. No other forms of payment will be accepted.

Confirmations & Notifications

Once you have submitted your registration, you will see a confirmation screen. You may wish to print this page in case the confirmation email goes to your junk or is blocked.

You will also be sent an email receipt from Stripe and a registration confirmation from SCBWI RMC. If you do not see them, please check your junk or spam folder.

Cost of Registration

Early registration for both days is $295 for members and $350 for non-members. Space is limited, especially for intensives and critiques, so register early for the best selection.
